Internal Assessment (IA)
The Computer Science Internal Assessment (IA) is commonly referred to as ‘The Solution‘. It involves using Computing Technology to solve a problem for a real-life client. The client, scenario and solution are all of the student's choosing, allowing maximum leverage for both interest, availability and perhaps 'local need'!
The IA accounts for 30% of the total Standard Level (SL) grade and 20% of the Higher Level (HL) grade.
The IA has 5 parts:
The IA consists out of 5 parts and can be no longer than 2000 words (excluding any appendixes & footnotes/bibliographies). The video can be no longer than 7 minutes.

Criterion B – Record of Tasks (RoT) and Design – 6 marks
Criterion C – Development – 12 marks
Criterion D – Functionality (Video) – 4 marks
